Sarah Jane Short’s parents were Samuel Hazard Short and Elizabeth Fisher, who was the daughter of Richard Fisher of Mareham Le Fen and his first wife Sarah Padley. John Clark’s wife Eleanor Rooke was born in Washborough to Joseph Rook and Elizabeth Brown. Joseph’s parents were Henry Rook and Elizabeth Robinson and he had two brothers James and William. The Walmsley family are also interlinked with the Clark and Short families and their descendants are DNA matches.
